As part of the HAMTRACE project, Daliborka Nedić completed a secondment at the University of Donja Gorica (UDG) in Podgorica, Montenegro, one of the leading universities in the region.
The secondment focused on the early technical scoping of the project's artificial intelligence components, including defining requirements for AI-supported data quality assessment, anomaly detection, and data integrity validation within blockchain-enabled traceability workflows. The activities also included conceptual planning for explainable AI and user interaction, supporting the future development of AI-powered traceability services.
Beyond the technical activities, the secondment strengthened collaboration and knowledge exchange between the HAMTRACE partners, creating a strong foundation for the upcoming AI-supported phases of the project.
HAMTRACE combines chemical fingerprinting, AI and hyperspectral imaging, blockchain, and smart digital tags to build a transparent and secure traceability system tailored to the needs of the European agri-food sector. The project will run from 2026 to 2029, with pilot activities implemented in real food production environments.
The project is coordinated by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Programme.
